Dorothea L. (Peterman) Webster. 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle.  She was born on September 27, 1931 in Wilkes Barre, PA and was a daughter of the late Forrest A. Peterman and Laura (Sullivan) Peterman.


Dorothea was born, raised and graduated high school in Kingston, PA. It was there she met the love of her life, Marlin P. Webster while he was serving in the National Guard and on assignment in Wilkes Barre, PA. Dorothea was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Carlisle, where she was on the Altar Guild and volunteered her time. She also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go camping and traveling the many state parks and historic locations throughout the United States and Canada.


She is survived by, one daughter, Barbara L. Adams of Mechanicsburg, one son, Marlin P. “Skip” (and his wife, Rosetta) Webster, Jr. of State College, one brother, Charles Peterman of Kingston, PA, three grandchildren; Andrew Adams (Terri), Ashley Smith (Toby) and Taylor Webster, one great-grandson, Joshua Thomas Adams, one great-grand daughter Renee Louisa Adams and several nieces and nephews. 

 

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1A N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Adam Kradel officiating.  A fellowship will be held immediately following the service in the church parish hall.  Private burial will be in LeTort Cemetery, Middlesex Twp.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church.  Visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.

Dear Barb and family,
           I was so sorry to hear of your mothers passing.  I was unable to come
today, however you are in my mind and my heart.  I would like to get in touch, however, you will need to contact me.  I do not know how to reach you as you have relocated.  My numbers are the same.  Please call when you can.  I have many times thought of you.  You had awesome parents!  I hope your Dad forgave me as he always said, thats how you ended up with Gabe!!  He loved Gabe!  God bless you and much love to you
