Inge Wallace passed away on November 10, 2017 from injuries sustained in automobile accident on September 3, 2017.  Her family was by her side. Inge was born on September 20, 1930 in Rockershausen, Germany to Joseph and Helene (Koehler) Kӧrner.

On Christmas 1962, Inge married Lester J. Wallace in Saarbrucken, Germany and then traveled with him to America to live. Les and Inge had met in Pittsburgh, PA two years previously, while she was on an extended vacation. Inge was a master tailor by trade and enjoyed sewing, gardening, travel, and spending time with her family. Inge retired from JC Penney's in 1994 after working for 13 years in the Children's Department as Merchandising Assistant. Inge was a devoted 50-year parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlisle.

Inge is survived by two daughters; Stephanie (James) Cogan of Albany, NY and Claudia Porr of Mechanicsburg, her grandchildren; Kyle, John, and Julia Cogan and Angelica Porr, all of whom lovingly referred to her as “Oma”, her twin sister, Irmgard Hilt and sister, Irene Welter and sisters-in-law; Rosel Kӧrner and Marianne Kӧrner, all in their home country of Germany.  Inge was preceded in death by her Les, her husband of 51 years, her brothers; Gregor and Viktor Kӧrner and brothers-in-law; Erwin Hilt and Arnold Welter.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 E. Pomfret St, Carlisle, with Rev. Joshua Cavender officiating.  Burial will be in historic Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Shrine Church 3rd Century Fund or to Operation Smile.  Please visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.

Stephanie, Claudia and families: so deeply sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Such a lovely lady who will be greatly missed. I can see her up there charming St. Peter with her sweet German accent. I didn't know about her accident earlier or I would have contacted you sooner. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Paula Correal
