Ralph Weigel, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at home.  He was born on April 10, 1927 in York Springs, and was a son of the late Norman A. and Alvie M. R. (Day) Weigel.

Ralph graduated from York Springs High School.  He was an Army veteran of WWII and served several years with the PA National Guard.  Ralph retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot after 25 years of service.  He attended Opossum Hill Union Church, Carlisle.  Ralph was a life member of the Minnequa Social Club, Shippensburg and a member of Carlisle Eagles Aerie 1299.  Ralph enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling, dancing, playing his guitar and listening to country music.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Alice B. (Johnson) Weigel, two daughters; Patsy M. Kiner of Newville and Debra A. (husband, Robert) Freeburn of Dillsburg, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Ralph was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Pastor Randy Zook officiating.  Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Opossum Hill Union Church, 601 Opossum Lake Rd, Carlisle, PA 17015.  www.Since1853.com.

Alice - My condolences to you and the family.   I often saw Ralph at the summer festivals.  He did sing at one not too long ago. I am sure he will have a happy reunion with his brothers and sisters.  God bless you all - my thoughts and prayers are with you.
