Marie Eva Hurley, 96, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on Wednesday October 25, 2017 in the Pikes Peak
Care Center in Colorado Springs. She was born on April 20, 1921 in Prince George County, Maryland and was the daughter
of the late Roy A. and Anna Viola (Sollenberger) Weibley and the widow of Marshall Lee Hurley, who passed away on March 5,
2009
Marie was a 1940 graduate of Boilings Springs High School
and was a member of the high school marching band and the girls’ basketball team. Marie had worked for the former
Reeves-Hoffman Co. and Piezo Crystal Co, both of Carlisle. She was an honorary member of Pikes Peak Chapter 75, Women’s
Army Corps Veterans Assoc. and a member of Farm Women Group 18. Marie was a long time member of the former St James
Lutheran Church in Bloserville.
For the past 12 years
she lived with her daughters and son-in-law in Colorado Springs, CO
She
is survived by daughters; Linda Gomez (husband, Miguel) and Darlene Hurley of Colorado Springs and three grand-dogs; Molly,
Cindy and Livy that she loved and cherished. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Mellott of Carlisle and a brother,
Basil Weibley of Norfolk, VA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Withers
of Denver, CO.
A viewing will begin at 1:00
p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover
St, Carlisle, with Pastor Michael Cromer officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
