Peggy Ann Porter, 86, formerly of Plainfield, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Green Ridge Village in Newville.  She was born on February 19, 1931 in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late Elbert and Gladys Rose and was the widow of Stewart H. Porter, Sr., who passed away on May 24, 2016.

Peggy retired from the former Carlisle Tire & Wheel Co. with over 25 years of service.  She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with family and friends.  She will be missed by all.

She is survived by one daughter, Cherry (husband, Ed) Ellis of Carlisle, one son, Stewart H. “Butch” (wife, Shirley) Porter, Jr. of Carlisle, two sisters; Ruthann Jumper and Connie Wilson, both of Carlisle, three brothers; Jack Rose of Boiling Springs and twin brothers; Kimmy and Lester Rose, both Carlisle, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  Peggy was preceded in death by twin daughters; Kathryn and Beverly Porter, three sons; Steven, John and Dennis Porter, one grandson, Brad Porter, three sisters; Hazel Burd, Sandy Wickard and Marie Hampton and one brother, June Rose.

A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle.  Burial will be private.
