Robert Joseph Morrison, 75, of Shippensburg, passed
away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 11,
1942 in Newville, and was a son of the late Robert Herman Morrison and Fleta A. (Stum) Morrison. Bob graduated from
Carlisle High School with the class of 1960. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam
War. Bob retired from Local 411 after more than 30 years of service as a painter with M. Gordon & Sons,
Harrisburg. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and the Hub City Club, all of Shippensburg and
a life member of the Walnut Bottom Rod & Gun Club. After retirement, Bob was a driver for several Mennonite and
Amish families in the Shippensburg area. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Lois B. (Heberlig) Morrison,
one son, Robert J. Morrison, Jr. of Shippensburg, one daughter, Tammy L. (husband, David) Myers of Carlisle, three grandchildren;
Miranda Luckie, Andrew Myers and Levi Whitzel, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Morrison and Linda Young, one brother, Richard L. Morrison and one nephew, James
“Jimmy” Young. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 followed
by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the Prince Street United Brethren Church, 20 N. Prince St., Shippensburg, PA 17257,
with Rev. James Bolich officiating. Burial will be private. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
