
Edith O. (Barrick) Morrison, 86, of Carlisle, passed away
on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was born on March 26,
1931 in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late George and Esther (Killinger) Barrick and the widow of Robert E. Morrison,
who passed away on July 29, 2008. Edith graduated from Boiling Springs High School and retired
from the Borough of Carlisle Water Department where she worked as an accounting clerk. She also worked
at the Hamilton Elementary School in Carlisle where she was head of the kitchen. Edith was a member of
the Carlisle First Church of God, the Woodman of the World and the Order of Eastern Star. She
is survived by two sons; Thomas L. (wife, Winona) Morrison of York, SC and Richard E. “Rick” Morrison of Carlisle,
three brothers; Harold, Lee and Larry and three sisters; Faye, Louise and Pearl, one grandson, Jared R. Blackway and many
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynda K. Blackway, who passed away on June
22, 2017, two brothers; William and Robert and three sisters; Mary, Mae and Romaine. A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Michael R. Poe officiating. Burial will
be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made
to the Pennsylvania
