Charles (Chick) A. Kennedy, 76, of Carlisle, died on Friday, July 7, 2017 at West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.  He was born on November 22, 1940 in Carlisle, and was a son of the late Charles H. B. Kennedy and Dorothy L. (Carl) Kennedy.  He was married to the late Diane “Dee” (Wagner) Kennedy.

Chick graduated from Boiling Springs High School with the Class of 1958.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College in 1962 and his Master’s degree from the University of Delaware in 1965.  Chick was a physicist and retired after 40 years of service with Raytheon Corp.  As he always said, “This IS rocket science”.

He is survived by two brothers; James C. Kennedy (Marlene Tack) of Kenosha, WI and Michael E. Kennedy (Crystal Kerns) of Carlisle, and one sister, Marjorie Kennedy of Carlisle.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.

A private green burial will be held in the Wood’s Edge of the Paxtang Cemetery in Harrisburg.  Arrangements are being handled by Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle.  Chick was a dedicated supporter of animals.  To honor Chick, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of your choice.   www.Since1853.com.
