Jeanne E. Wickard, 87, of Newburg, passed away on
Monday, May 8, 2017 in the Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on March
27, 1930 in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late Roy H. Miller and Mary E. “Mamie” (Wise) Miller and was the
widow of Clarence M. Wickard, who passed away on Feb. 18, 1989.
Jeanne graduated in 1946 from Carlisle High School.
She and her late husband owned and operated agricultural farms in Carlisle, Shippensburg and most recently Newburg
for many years. Jeanne was a former member, Sunday School Teacher and Children’s Church Leader with
the Landisburg Assembly of God. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, antiques and caring for her
family. She is survived by four sons; Roy W. and wife Nancy Wickard of Carlisle, Lee M. and wife Bettylou Wickard
of Shippensburg, Clete A. and wife Susan Wickard of Newburg and Mark A. Wickard and his companion Holly Beam of Newburg, two
daughters; Nancy S. and husband Chuck Poleto and Mary and husband Raymond Sipe, both of Carlisle, one sister, Anna Mae Raudabaugh
of Carlisle, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was predeceased
by three brothers; Lorne, Leon and Marlin Miller and one sister, Pauline Lohmann. A viewing will begin
at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Wayne Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Waggoners United Methodist
Church Cemetery, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Project Share Food
