Joyce N. Brewer, 64, of Carlisle, passed away on
Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg. She was born on February 25, 1953 in Franklinville, NJ, and
was a daughter of the late Chalkley Porch, Sr. and Helen (Yeager) Porch. Joyce graduated from
Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville and was a loving homemaker. She is survived by
her husband, Kirk N. Brewer, two daughters; Joyce M. Bernabe and Michelle L. McNulty, both of Carlisle, one brother Chalkley
Porch, Jr., six sisters; Elizabeth Mattson, Miriam Metzger, Mary Ann Larson, Joan Dare, Diane Forson, and Bonnie Miller, five
grandchildren; Gwendolyn Strom, Rhiannon Enright, Logan Eckman, Todd Searer, Jr., and Mallory McNulty, and many nieces and
nephews. She was formerly married to the late Vincent Bernabe, Jr. and predeceased by one daughter, Melinda Eckman, and one
sister, Helen Jacobs. Joyce was happiest when she was gardening, watching movies on the Hallmark
channel, talking with her church group at Middlesex United Methodist Church in Carlisle, and spending time with her loving
family and cherishing husband. Her garden, like her, was wonderful and happy, and it was a beautiful expression of her caring
spirit. A bright, generous, and lovely person, Joyce Brewer was a shining light to any she met. There are no words to express
our deep sorrow at her passing. She is now tending the most beautiful garden in Heaven, and here on Earth she will be greatly
missed. Services and burial will be private. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge
of the arrangements. www.Since1853.com.
