Ruth E. Wagner, 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at her home with family by her side.  She was born on July 4, 1930 in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late Samuel S. and Minnie C. (Timmins) Gossard and was the widow of John C. Wagner, who passed away on Aug. 22, 2011.

Ruth was a Carlisle High School graduate and a loving homemaker.  She had worked for the former People’s Drug Store and retired from The Bon Ton, both of Carlisle.  Ruth was a member of the Carlisle First Church of God.  She enjoyed collecting antiques.

She is survived by one son, SSG (Ret) Steven L. Wagner, US Army and his wife, Kokimi of Carlisle, one daughter, Melinda K. and her husband, George Crawford of Carlisle, one sister, Charlotte Gruneberg of Chesapeake, VA, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by five brothers; Paul, Ray, Ernie, Earl and Donald Gossard and one sister, Rose Minnich.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Greg Hench officiating.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  A viewing will be held on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.
