

James
Robert Hodge, Jr., 70, formerly of York, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 in the Lebanon V. A. Medical Center.
He was born on August 1, 1946 in Carlisle, and was a son of the late James Robert Hodge, Sr. and Hazel Mae (Wright)
Hodge. Jimmy graduated from Carlisle High School with the class of 1968, and was a US Army veteran having served during the
Vietnam War. He retired from American Products Co. in York after 20 years of service. Following
his retirement, Jimmy worked part-time at the York County Courthouse with the maintenance department. He
was of Christian faith and formerly attended West Street A.M.E. Zion Church in Carlisle. Jimmy was an avid
Dallas Cowboys fan. He is survived by three daughters; Janina “Nina” Hodge of Atlanta, GA, Amber Hodge and Daneisha Drift both
of Texas, two sons; Richard “Chip” Hodge and Ellelon “Mike” Hodge both of Carlisle, one sister, Shermaine
Rideout of Carlisle, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by one brother, Gary Lee Hodge and one sister, Jayne Ann Manigault. A viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January
11, 2017 followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with
Rev. Vearnol Hazel officiating. Burial with military honors will be private at Indiantown Gap National
