Frank
Stets, 99, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle. He was born
on March 27, 1917 in Dickson City, PA, and was a son of the late Frank T. and Julia (Soliak) Stets and was married to the
late Catherine E. (Herman) Stets, who died February 25, 2005. Frank was a high school graduate and had worked for the former Piezo Crystal
Co. and the former Minerva Spinning Mills, both of Carlisle. Frank retired as a plant operator for the
Carlisle Borough Water Treatment Plant. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, and was
a past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus in Carlisle. He is survived by four sons; Frank T. Stets, Michael E. Stets, Joseph V. Stets,
all of Carlisle and George H. (wife, Beverly) Stets of Newville, three daughters; Mary Ann Stets (and her lifelong companion,
Gail Thompson) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Eleanor R. (husband, Timothy) Speece of Mt. Holly Springs and Christine E. (husband,
Robert) Shoffner of Carlisle, one brother, Nicholas Stets of Levittown, two sisters; Irene Kosydor of Clarks Summit and Marie
Herman of Carlisle and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren , great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January
10, 2017 in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held on Monday from
6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Shrine Church Third Century Fund, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle,
