Kenneth B. Lehman, 84, of Newville, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.  He was born on July 14, 1932 in Carlisle, and was a son of the late Edward J. and Mabel O. (Whistler) Lehman.

Ken attended Big Spring High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.  He retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot with more than 30 years of service.  After his retirement, he operated Lehman’s Ornamental Iron Works in Newville.  Ken’s craftsmanship with iron railings was well known around the area and most notably, he handcrafted the railing and duck at Boiling Springs Lake.  Ken was a member of the Carlisle Church of the Brethren and a life member of the Newville American Legion.

He is survived by one daughter, Kendra J. (husband, Thomas) Shaffer of Newville, three sons; Kendall S. (companion, Terri Jones) Lehman of Carlisle, Brent A. (wife, Beverly) Lehman and Kent E. (wife, “Bobbi”) Lehman, all of Newville, his companion, Phyllis Kotzmoyer of Carlisle, two sisters; Jeannette M. Frey of Carlisle and Shirley A. Richion of Los Gates, CA, six grandchildren; Scott (wife, Amanda) Lehman, Derek (wife, Alexandria) Shaffer, Taylor (wife, Stepfanie) Shaffer, Ty Lehman, Charli B. Lehman and Eric Willhide, five great-grandchildren; Samantha Willhide and Austin, Ashlynn, Bailee and Camdyn Shaffer and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three sisters; Harriet Miller, Louise Kessler and Dorothy Hykes and three brothers; Wilber, Donald E. and Guy Lehman.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in the Carlisle Church of the Brethren, 1340 Forge Rd., Carlisle.  A visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the Carlisle Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Jim Abe and Pastor Marla Abe officiating.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard.  Memorial donations in Ken’s name may be made to the Cumberland County Honor Guard, 18 N. Hanover St., Ste. 103, Carlisle, PA 17013 or to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  www.Since1853.com
