Henry V. Rasmussen, 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.  He was born on June 18, 1931 in Carlisle, and was a son of the late William H. and Alta E. (Shearer) Rasmussen.

Henry was a 1949 graduate of Boiling Springs High School.  He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.  He had worked many years with the former Piezo Crystal Co., Carlisle and retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot.  Henry enjoyed horse racing, golf, bowling and Penn State football.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Jacqueline M. (Darhower) Rasmussen, one daughter, Teresa “Terre” R. Sarach (and her fiancé, Brad Free) of Mt. Holly Springs, one son, Phillip L. Rasmussen of Brookshire, TX, three brothers; John H. Rasmussen of Carlisle, Thomas L. Rasmussen of Florida and Earl N. Rasmussen of Phoenix, AZ, three grandchildren; Robert and Jacqueline Sarach and James R. Rasmussen, one great-grandson, Everett Sarach and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by four brothers; William, Robert, Herbert and James Rasmussen.

A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Greg Hench officiating.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Salvation Army.
