Dorothy E. Marshall, 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at her home.  She was born on November 15, 1934 in Bedford, and was a daughter of the late James C. and Grace (McDonald) Miller.

Dorothy graduated from Bedford High School with the class of 1953.  She had worked at the former Carlisle Building & Loan Assoc. and the former Super-Doughnuts in Carlisle.  Dorothy formerly attended Otterbein United Methodist Church in Boiling Springs.  She loved her grandchildren and made their birthdays extra special.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Zuni of Carlisle, one son, James (wife, Jeri) Marshall of Walnut Bottom, one brother, John Miller of Denver, CO, one sister, Ann Koontz of Bedford, three grandchildren; Seth Marshall, Thomas Zuni and Kelsey Marshall, one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and James Miller, one sister, Helen Cornell, one grandson, Joseph Zuni, two nieces; Dorothy and Connie and her former husband, James F. Marshall.

A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Wayne Wheeler officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date in Bedford Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name and her grandson’s name, LCP Joseph Zuni, USMC to the PA Wounded Warriors Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
