Evelyn R. Boyer, 72, of Carlisle, passed to eternal
life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 16, 1944 in
Newville, and was a daughter of the late Harold W. and Anna L. (Raudabaugh) Rhoads and was the widow of Kenneth E. Boyer,
who died April 22, 2007. Evelyn graduated from Big Spring
High School with the Class of 1963. She retired after many years of service at the Dunham Health Clinic
at the U. S. Army War College. After her retirement, Evelyn worked several years with the American Red
Cross. She was a devoted and active member of the Carlisle First Church of the Brethren, Carlisle. She is survived by her loving daughters; Karen L. Boyer (wife Vanessa Burnes) of Pittsburgh, Kimberly J. (husband Barry)
George of Wrightstown, NJ and Kelly A. (husband Rev. Donald) Mason of Annville, one brother, William Rhoads of Newville, six
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by two
sisters; Ruth Rhoads and Edith Garner.
A visitation will
begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 followed by memorial services at 3:00 p.m. in the Carlisle First Church
of the Brethren, 1340 Forge Rd., Carlisle, with Pastors Jim and Marla Abe officiating. Burial will be private
at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of
the arrangements. Memorial contributions in Evelyn’s name may be made to her church or to the American

sorry to hear of Evelyn's death. I knew her for years while attending the Firrst Church of the Brethren in Carlisle.
She was a special lady ...kind and caring to everyone as was her husband Ken whom she lost several years ago. Those
two have been welcomed in heaven with open arms I'm sure. My condolences to the family. Barbara Johnson

worked together at Dunham and although I never met each of you personal I felt I knew you well,she never had a bad word
to say. She loved her grand children as much,and son/daughter-in-laws. My prayers go out to all of you us you deal with

When
I volunteered at Dunham Health Clinic, I became acquainted with Evelyn and saw her occasionally when she brought her pets
to a nursing home where I volunteered. What a precious lady. God bless and comfort you as you grieve your loss.
