

Morris G. Strickland, 82, of Carlisle, passed away
unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on August 15, 1934 in
Duncannon, and was a son of the late John Strickland and Sara Jane (Maxwell) Blain and her husband, Percy Blain. Morris graduated from Duncannon High School with the Class of 1952, and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Morris retired as a foreman after more than 42 years of service with Local 520 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union in Harrisburg.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, a member and 3rd degree Knight with the Knights
of Columbus and a member of Carlisle Eagles Aerie 1299. He was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed taking
care of his family and his home. He is survived by his devoted wife
of 62 years, Mary Ann (Tolbert) Strickland, three sons; Michael J. (wife, Kimberly) Strickland, Matthew G. (wife, Kathy) Strickland
and M. Jeffrey (companion, Payton Rupp) Strickland, two daughters; Marcia “Sis” L. (husband, Carl) Bouder and
Melanie A. Strickland, all of Carlisle, 10 grandchildren; Kevin, Kristopher, Jared, Justin, Drew, Jace, Audra and Keegan Strickland
and Laura and Benjamin Bouder, 6 great-grandchildren; Zoey, Zackary and Ryker Strickland, Derek and Brennen Bouder and Kelsey
McBride and one step-granddaughter, SaMya Rupp. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh
Dr., Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing
will be held on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.
Memorial contributions may be made in Morris’s name to St. Patrick Catholic Church or to St. Patrick Catholic
