
Janet E. Calaman, 85, of Carlisle, died on Sunday,
September 25, 2016 at home. She was born on October 16, 1930 in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late
Merle E. and Leone (Leeper) Coover and was the widow of Max A. Calaman, who died on Feb. 28, 2001. Janet earned her G.E.D. from Carlisle High School. Janet operated a state approved child care in
her home for many years during the day and had also worked at several local restaurants during the evening hours.
She was a longtime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle. She is survived by one son, Mark A. (and his wife, Barbara A.) Calaman of Carlisle, one daughter, Lesa Calaman Barwick
of Carlisle, two grandchildren; Amanda Barwick and Daniel Calaman and one cousin, Geneva Pittinger of Carlisle. A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Pastor Rob Moore officiating. Burial will be in
