Douglas S. Dunbar, 64, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at home.  He was born on June 18, 1952 in Carlisle, and was a son of the late Samuel S. and Ethel (Hinkle) Dunbar.

Doug graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1970 and attended Lock Haven University for three years.  He was a retired self-employed carpenter and handyman in the Carlisle area for most of his life.  Doug was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.  Doug was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Susan L. (Bartlett) Dunbar, one brother, Robert Hinkle of Newville, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.  Doug was predeceased by one brother, Ronald Hinkle.

A visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 followed by memorial services at 2:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Father Dave Snyder officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date in the McClure’s Gap Church of God Cemetery, Newville.  Memorial contributions in Doug’s name may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania 13201 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, Pa 17110.  www.Since1853.com
