
Dale K. “Skinner” Benner, 60, of Shermans
Dale, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at home. He was born on Nov. 30, 1955 in Harrisburg, and was
a son of the late Daniel H. and Dorothy B. (Johnson) Benner, Sr. Dale attended
West Perry High School. He formerly worked for AMP Inc., Carlisle Tire & Wheel Co. and retired from
Ames Tru Temper, Carlisle. Dale also had his own body shop at home where he enjoyed painting cars.
Dale was a founding member of the P.C.A.A. Car Club (1980-2005), a social member of the V.F.W. Post 7463-New Bloomfield
and a member of A.B.A.T.E. (Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education) of Pennsylvania. He enjoyed riding
his motorcycle, car shows, street rods, fishing and hunting. He is survived
by his devoted wife of 41 years, Kay L. (Bailey) Benner, one son, Ryan K. Benner (Tiana Garman) of Loysville, one daughter,
Jan R. Rowe (Justin Rodgers) of Wormleysburg, three brothers; Daniel Benner, Jr. of Carlisle, Darvin Benner, Sr. of Newport
and Dwayne Benner of New Bloomfield, three sisters; Deborah Jayne of Carlisle, Doncella Miller of New Bloomfield and Doreen
Brownawell of Shermans Dale, three grandchildren; Caden Rowe (and his father, Ryan Rowe), Kamaira Garman and Kian Garman,
many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Hank. A viewing
will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 followed by funeral services at 12:00 noon in the Hope of Glory Family
Church, 717 Pine Grove Rd, New Bloomfield, with Rev. Michael Zang officiating. Burial will be in Young’s
United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
