Elsie S. Finkey, 82, of Carlisle, passed away on
Saturday, August 20, 2016 at home. She was born on February 28, 1934 in Newville, and was a daughter of
the late Irvin R. and Velva E. (Swartz) Smith.
Elsie graduated from
Carlisle High School in 1951 and worked for the former Robbin’s Flowers in Carlisle, The Town Stationary Store in Shippensburg
and lastly for Martian Security in Chambersburg from which she retired. She is
survived by three sons; Stephen R. (Cherie) Finkey, David S. (Kathy) Finkey, both of Shippensburg and Michael A. (Kimberly)
Finkey of Chambersburg, three daughters; Rae Ann Myers with whom she lived, Marjorie L. (David) Mengle of Mechanicsburg, and
Beth Anne Keller of Carlisle, two sisters; Mary Lou Fitzgerald and Edna (Ron) McKillip, both of Carlisle, 18 grandchildren
and 14 great-grandchildren. Elsie was predeceased by five brothers; Ray, John, Bob, Dick and Jackie Smith,
three sisters; Fredith M. Wholey, Vera E. Minnich and Rachel Jean Reed and her ex-husband, Robert L. Finkey, who died January
11, 1997. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday,
August 26, 2016 in the Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Rd, Newville, with Rev. Linda Maifair officiating.
Burial will follow in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held on Thursday
from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle. Flowers
are welcome or memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Rock United Methodist Church. www.Since1853.com

of your Mom There will be a void in you life and it's extra hard when you have been with them every day !!! Took care
of my Granny for 16 years . But I just want you to know the Bekcy's Beagle Family and Dixie and fun Friends are here
