Larry L. Boyd, 77, of Newville, passed away on Tuesday,
May 9, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 1, 1940 in Newville, and was a
son of the late Ellsworth R. and Helen E. (Bloser) Boyd and was married to the late Shirley A. Boyd, who passed away on December
18, 2015.
Larry was a 1958 graduate of Big Spring High School,
Newville and was a US Army veteran. He had worked nearly 20 years as a supervisor with the former Reeves-Hoffman,
Co. in Carlisle before he became disabled.
He is survived by
one daughter, Karen L. and her husband Thomas Daihl of Newburg, one brother, Eugene Boyd of Pittsburgh, one sister, Kathryn
and her husband Eugene Purcell of Carlisle, two grandchildren, Michelle Daihl and Randall and his wife Kacie Daihl, four great-grandchildren;
Hunter, Blake, Kadence and Hailey and three nieces; Teresa Hicks, Jennifer Spitz and Darcy Bradley.
Private funeral services will be held in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
Carlisle with Pastor Dick Warner officiating. Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard
