Alba J. Ragno, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at her home.  She was born on January 31, 1927 in Franklin, MA, and was a daughter of late Stefano “Steve” and Maria (Accordini) Fontaine.  She was the widow of Joseph Ragno, who died on September 13, 2008.

Alba was a 1944 graduate of Franklin High School.  She grew up bilingual in an Italian family outside of Boston and always kept her love of New England and ocean in her heart. She met her husband Joseph and upon marriage moved to New Jersey where they lived for more than 50 years. During that time Alba worked in Research and Development at RCA. She also received her certification as Medical Assistant.  Alba was the most positive person you would ever know. She always had a cheerful smile and thoughtfulness for everyone. She had made many close friends with her positive spirit and welcoming attitude.  Upon retirement, Alba and Joe moved to Carlisle and built a house in Forgedale Crossing, and in 2007 they moved to their cottage at Cumberland Crossings. We will miss her laugh and ever present smile.

Alba is survived by her four children; David Ragno of Summerland Key, Florida, Sharon (and her husband Ron) Steinour of Carlisle, Debbie (and her husband Gary) Whitney of Middleton, WI and Robin Albright of Carlisle and two grandsons; Adam Moschette and Bob Albright, both of Carlisle.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr, Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating.  Burial will be private in St. Patrick New Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Dr., Ste. 100, Camp Hill, PA 17011.  www.Since1853.com.
