Janice M. Mottern, 80, of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday,
May 10, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 29, 1936 in Ringgold, Jefferson County, PA, and was a daughter
of the late Clark and Alberta (Himes) Geist and was the widow of David R. “Jack” Mottern, who died on June 2,
2000 Janice was a high school graduate. She
retired after many years of service with Giant Foods in Carlisle and Camp Hill. Janice enjoyed being a
homemaker and taking care of her family.
She is survived by
one son, Donald R. (wife, Nancy) Mottern of Carlisle, three brothers; Stan (wife, Susan), Howard and Allen Geist, one sister,
Carolyn Thomas, four grandchildren, Jennifer and Robert Mottern and Jacob and Christopher Moyer, two great-grandchildren;
Amara Moyer and Tyler Judy and several nieces and nephews. A visitation
will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Rev. Donna Hughes officiating. Burial will be private in Oliveburg Cemetery,
Oliveburg, PA.
