Lenora C. “Nook” Kiehl, 85, of Carlisle, passed
away on Friday, May 06, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 7, 1931 in Carlisle, and was a daughter
of the late John E. and Sara (Bowermaster) Kiehl. Lenora
was previously employed with the former Carlisle Shoe Co. and Carlisle Tire & Rubber Co. Nook also
worked at the former Starlite and Embers Hotels, both of Carlisle. She is survived by one brother, John L. Kiehl of Peoria, AZ and several nieces and nephews including, Ginger L. Hollister-Leonard
and Shawn with whom she lived. Nook was predeceased by one brother, William Kiehl and two sisters; Christine
Woods and Shirley Coleman. A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m.
on Thursday, May 12, 2016 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St,
Carlisle, with Elder William D. Crowden officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Dr. David Dell and Celtic Hospice for the care they
gave Nook.
