
Mary Lou Thomas Grove, 85, of Boiling Springs, was
welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at her home. She was born on Aug. 7, 1930 in
Greensburg, PA and was a daughter of the late Floyd and Sarah (Condo) Sibel. Mary Lou was a 1948 graduate of Greensburg High School. She retired in 1993 from Cumberland County,
where she was employed with the County Tax Assessment Office. She was a member of St. John Chrysostom,
York. Mary Lou loved the Lord, her family and her cat, Sassy. She enjoyed Steelers and
Penn State football, shopping, Sunday drives and Reese’s peanut butter cups. Mary Lou always had
a smile for everyone. Affectionately known as Mom, Grandma, Gram and Gigi, she loved unconditionally all
her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is
survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert L. “Bob” Grove, Jr., one daughter, Robin K. (husband, Steven) Sollenberger
of Fountain Hills, AZ, three sons; Ralph K. Thomas and Richard K. (wife, Cindy) Thomas, both of Carlisle and Keith R. Grove
of Tarpen Springs, FL, one sister, Ruth (husband, William) Bierer of Millwood, VA, one brother, Fred (wife, Nancy Jo) Sibel
of Tavares, FL, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by one brother, Glen Miller. The family would like to thank
all of the caregivers over the past several years for their kindness and generosity in caring for Mary Lou. A
special thanks to Betra in Home Care and to Heartland Hospice for their services and wonderful personnel. Lastly,
thank you to Father Peter Pier and Mary Lou’s many friends at St. John Chrysostom for their prayers and concern. A viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers
Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Father Peter Pier officiating. Burial will be in LeTort
Cemetery, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, 500 University Dr., Hershey, PA 17033.
