Martha Evelyn Manning, 96, formerly of Plainfield, passed
away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle. She was born on Feb. 29, 1920 in West Pennsboro
Township, and was a daughter of the late William H. and Martha B. (Erford) Brehm and the widow of John H. Manning, Jr., who
died Jan. 29, 1995. Martha enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of
her family. She was a member of the Cumberland County Farm Women Chapter 9. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy C. (husband, Barry) Brewer of Troy, PA, three grandchildren; Michael A. Manning,
Debra M. Cowl and Cynthia M. Hajri, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased
by one son, Robert A. Manning, one grandson, Matthew S. Manning, two brothers; Melvin F. and Clarence J. Brehm and two sisters;
Alice B. Delp and Myra B. Tanger.
Services and burial will
be private in the Plainfield Lutheran Church Cemetery, Plainfield. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle
is in charge of the arrangements.
