Dorothy Louise (Lindsay) Bush, 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.  She was born on August 29, 1935 in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Herbert J. and Marie (Hardy) Lindsay.  She was the widow of Grant T. “Ted” Bush, who died Oct. 5, 2012.

Dorothy attended Big Spring High School and was a member of the Newville Assembly of God.  She had worked at the former Newville Shoe Factory and also worked as a “Trade Show Decorator” in Harrisburg.

She is survived by two daughters; Leslie Fickes of Mechanicsburg and Linda Fickes of Carlisle, four sons; E. Grant Bush and his wife, Jane of Cary, NC, Michael T. Bush of Harrisburg, Benjamin G. Bush and his wife, Tina and Robert L. Bush and his wife, Sherry of Etters, three brothers; John, James and Harry Lindsay, one sister, Jeannie and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by one daughter, Lorrie Mixell and one brother, Fred Lindsay.

A viewing will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 followed by funeral services at 5:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle with Rev. Jeff Kettering officiating.  Burial will be private.  Memorial gifts in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013.

Growing up as neighbors, I have many fond memories of Dot & what was the Fickes home back in the day.
