
Catherine B. Amsley, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, February
29, 2016 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was born on May 16, 1922 in Greencastle and
was a daughter of the late William and Jenny (Phinicie) Peck, and was the widow of John J. Amsley, Sr., who died Jan. 2, 2004. Catherine was
a homemaker and member of the LeTort United Methodist Church, Carlisle. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening
and canning. She is survived by three sons; Ronald L. (wife, Eyvonne) Amsley, John
J. (wife, Nancy) Amsley, Jr. and Robert “Bill” Amsley, all of Carlisle, one daughter, Shirley J. Campbell of Carlisle,
8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Catherine
was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Private graveside services
and burial will be held at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donna Hughes officiating. Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial gifts in Catherine’s name
may be made to LeTort United Methodist Church, 1198 Claremont Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.
