
Frances B. “Dede” Snyder, 86, of Carlisle, passed away
peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 13, 2016. She was born on March 18, 1929 in Carlisle, a daughter
of the late Raymond C. and Florence (Wardecker) Bobb, and was married to the late William Treadway “Bill” Snyder,
who died on Nov. 15, 2000. She loved life, family, friends and “recreational” shopping. Dede graduated
from Carlisle High School with the Class of 1946 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the Shippensburg
State Teachers College. She taught first grade in the Carlisle Area School District. Dede
was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle. She is survived by two sons;
W. Kirk (and his wife, Marie) Snyder of Kailu Kona, HI and Frederick A. “Rick” (and his wife, Ruth-Ann) Snyder
of Boiling Springs, one daughter, Barbara S. Herman of Gastonia, NC, one brother, Raymond C. Bobb II of Carlisle, one sister,
Florence Bobb Hamlin of Mechanicsburg, six grandchildren; Gregory and Jonathan Snyder, Joseph and Molly Herman and Emily and
Rebecca Snyder and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,
February 20, 2016 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle,
with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey L. Gibelius and Rev. Jennifer L. McKenna officiating. Burial will be in Westminster
Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

East Ridge Street neighborhood of Carlisle was a special pleasure and Dede was a key person in adding joy and sharing many
