
Dorothy A. Cooper, 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Church
of God Home, Carlisle. She was born on August 8, 1930 in Mt. Joy, and was a daughter of the late Benjamin
and Laura (Smith) Flickinger. She was the widow of Robert A. Cooper, who died May 14, 1996. Dorothy graduated
from Blain High School in Perry County. She was a loving homemaker and had also worked for the former G.
C. Murphy’s Department Store, Carlisle.
She is survived by two sons; Robert A. (wife,
Carol) Cooper of Mechanicsburg and Richard A. (wife, JoAnne) Cooper of Carlisle, one sister, Irene March of Carlisle, five
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She
was predeceased by one sister, Nina Wilson.
A viewing will begin at
12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630
S. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Chaplain Bradley V. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley
Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
