Francis H. Parsons, 87, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, November
21, 2015 at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. He was born on Nov. 22, 1927 in Volney, NY and was a son
of the late John H. and Vera M. (Wood) Parsons. He was married to the late M. Theresa (Roy) Parsons, who
died on Aug. 27, 2011. Francis attended a one-room school and graduated at
the age of 17 from Fulton High School in NY. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He retired
from General Electric Co. in Syracuse, NY, as an operations shop manager after 33 years of service. As
a young man, Francis raced “stock cars” and his passion for cars became a lifelong enjoyment. He
also enjoyed woodworking and always continued to support his high school’s wrestling booster club. Francis
attended services at the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe, where he was also an usher. He is
survived by two sons; Michael F. Parsons of Sacramento, CA and Mark L. Parsons of Carlisle, two daughters; Diane R. (husband,
Timothy) Watson of Syracuse and Kathleen A. (husband, Sean) Mulgrew of Westminster, MD, one brother, John Parsons of Portsmith,
VA, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two
sisters; Kelly Grace and Eleanor Cardinali and one brother, Arthur Parsons. Funeral
services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe, 770 S. Hanover St,
Carlisle, with Rev. Walt Frankenberry officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Indiantown
Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 2 – 4:00 p.m. in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made
to Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
