Floyd E. Mathna, 88, of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.  He was born on October 13, 1928 in Newburg, and was a son of the late Floyd H. and Bertha Mae (Chamberlin) Mathna.

Floyd was a 1945 graduate of Boiling Springs High School.  He retired in 1990 after 45 years of service as an assistant superintendent with the former Kinney Shoe Co.  After retiring, Floyd worked for Georges’ Flower Shop for nearly 20 years.  He was a charter member and a former Deacon of the Faith Chapel, Carlisle.  Floyd enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Faith Chapel and substituted on an occasional basis at different local churches. 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Ardella M. (Shatto) Mathna, one daughter, Cathy Boudman of Ogden, UT, two sons; Brad L. Mathan of Etters and Jon Mathna of Carlisle, two grandchildren; Brandon Boudman and Tracy Mastergeorge, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including, Rhoda Bear.

A viewing will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in Faith Chapel, 1453 Holly Pike, Carlisle, PA 17015 with, Pastor Michael Mayer officiating.  Burial will be in LeTort Cemetery, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to his church.  Arrangements are being handled by Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle.  www.Since1853.com.
