Sylvia Ann Bennett, 62, of Boiling Springs, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at her home.  She was born on February 22, 1953 in Sayre, Bradford County, PA the only daughter of the late Andrew C. and Marion I. (Richards) Glosenger, and was the widow of Rev. Ralph E. Bennett, Jr., who died May 8, 2011.

Blind all of her life; Sylvia graduated in June of 1972 from the Overbrook School for The Blind in Overbrook, PA.  After graduation, Sylvia attended an Independent Living Program in Philadelphia.  She then moved to Pittsburgh and graduated from the Goodwin Business Institute and became a Medical Records Transcriptionist.   Upon graduation from Goodwin, Sylvia moved to the Wilkes-Barre area where she worked for the Federal Government Office of Administrative Services, transcribing records for the Veterans Administration for 12 years.  After leaving that job, Sylvia married and remained in the Wilkes-Barre area with the love of her life, Ralph, for twenty-one years.  She moved to Boiling Springs in January of 2014.

She is survived by six brothers: Carl M. (wife, Janis) Glosenger of Boiling Springs, with whom Sylvia lived; Robert A. (wife, Linda) Glosenger of Frederick, MD; Kenneth E. Glosenger (longtime companion, Dawn “Sue” Thompson) of Sayre, PA; Paul D. Glosenger of Baltimore, MD; her twin brother, Steven V. (wife, June) Glosenger of Mosherville, PA; and Bruce A. (wife, Cyndy) Glosenger of Redland, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Sylvia loved the weekly Country Music Countdown, baseball in general but the New York Yankees especially, her daily devotional studies and discussing these with several life long friends from Overbrook.

All services will be private.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations in Sylvia’s name may be made to the Shiremanstown United Methodist Church, Trustees’ Fund, 125 E. Main St, Shiremanstown, PA  17011.
