Katharine J. “Kate” Quigley, 90, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully
at her home on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. She was born on Dec. 15, 1924 in Newport, a daughter of the
late John and Lillie (Haines) Kapp, and was the widow of Robert M. Quigley, who died Sept. 17, 2003. Kate
was a 1942 graduate of Newport High School and was a longtime member of Waggoner’s United Methodist Church, Carlisle.
Kate was loving and devoted homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia
A. Yost of Carlisle, two grandsons; Randall Yost and Ray (wife, Sandy) Yost, two great-grandsons; Corey and Kyle Yost, two
great-granddaughters; Kayla Mickulik and M. Katie Yost, one sister, Martha Witmer, three brothers; George, John and James
Kapp, all of Newport and several nieces and nephews. Kate was predeceased by one son-in-law, Leonard E.
Yost, two brothers and two sisters. A viewing will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August
15, 2015 followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev.
Dr. Richard E. Denison, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
Memorial donations may be made to her church, 1271 Longs Gap Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.

Kate was the sweetest person I know and met at Waggoners UM Church. She was always smiling and giving

Hi Kitty, You will be missed. I will always remember that smile. Also,
I always looked forward to my birthday call from my big sister in Carlisle, wishing me a Happy Birthday and inquiring about
how things were on my side of the mountain. I still have fond memories of the Kapp Christmas trip to the Quigley's home
on Pitt Street and walking to the Square and waiting for Santa Claus!!! I will cherish this event forever. I love you!!
