Grace Anna Landis, 84, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.  She was born on Dec. 5, 1930 in Lees Crossroads, Cumberland County, a daughter of the late Eber Paul Gettle and Anna Grace (Eckenrode) Gettle.

Grace worked for several companies in the area including; the former McCoy Electronics in Mt. Holly Springs, the former Singer Sewing Center at the former M. J. Mall in Carlisle and most recently the Carlisle WalMart.  She formerly attended Dickinson Presbyterian Church, Carlisle.  Grace’s friends and family described her as “one-of-a-kind”.

She is survived by one brother, Mervin Gettle of Newville, three sisters; Doris Keiter of Carlisle, Thelma Varner of Boiling Springs and MaryEtta Fickes of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews.  Grace was predeceased by one daughter, Sharon Landis, two brothers; Harold and Paul Gettle, Jr. and two sisters; Jane Wallace and Phyllis Warren.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 1991 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, with Rev. Jeanette Mater officiating.  Interment will private in the Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingstown.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is assisting the family with the arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to the Sarah A.
