
Shirley A. Lick, 83, of Palmyra, died Friday, May
22, 2015 in Independence, MO while traveling to Phoenix, AZ. She was born on November 18, 1931 in Mechanicsburg,
a daughter of the late Wilber L. Smith and Marie (Hooper) Smith Darhower. Shirley was the widow of Chief
Warrant Officer 2 (Ret) Daniel C. Lick, Sr., US Army, who died on November 4, 2009. Shirley was a 1949 graduate of Carlisle High School. She was a loving homemaker and had
also worked as a banking customer service representative. She is
survived by two sons; Daniel C. Lick, Jr. and Larry J. (wife Patricia) Lick, both of Phoenix, AZ, one brother, Jack L. Smith
of Carlisle, two sisters; Patti J. Bowen of White Hall, MD and Joan M. Hedger of Hershey, 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her sisters; Leota Swift and Donna Stum and by
brothers; Richard Smith, Ronald Smith and James Darhower. A viewing
will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral
Home, 630 S. Hanover St. Carlisle. Rev. Keith Searfoss will officiate. Interment will
be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made in
Shirley’s name to a charity of your choice.

I am so sorry to her about the passing of Shirley. I knew her when her son was married to my sister Kathy.
She was a beautiful and wonderful mother and grandmother. she will be missed. May she rest in peace and join her husband
