Dorothy "Dot" Mae Wolf George, 102, of Carlisle, died on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Chapel Pointe in Carlisle. She was born August 9, 1912, in Gettysburg, a daughter of the late William and Sadie (Eckert) Wolf, and was the widow of Charles F. George, who died on December 28, 1988.

Dot enjoyed being a homemaker and formerly worked for Minerva Mills and Bedford Shoe Company.  Dot was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church and was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Women of the Elks, all of Carlisle.  Dot attributed her longevity to good genes, little stress, good health and staying active.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Jane E. (Steve) Brown of Carlisle, grandson, John T. (Patte) Weber of Carlisle; 2 great grandchildren, Mary Beth (Andy) Heller, of Carlisle and Jonathan (Emily) Geiman of Boiling Springs; 4 great-great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Romaine “Sis” (Bob) Alspaugh and Robert George, both of Carlisle, Anna Marie Hess of North Carolina, and Joyce Zinn of Newville, 8 step grandchildren, 13 step great-grandchildren, 6 step great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews including, Jacqueline Freeman (Joe) Starz, who considered  "Aunt Dot'' to be a second mother.  She was predeceased by one daughter, Betty J. Taylor Weber Mowery, three brothers; Roy, Jim, Harry and Paul Wolf and two sisters; Evelyn Freeman Arehart and Mary Wolfe.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in the First Presbyterian Church, 2 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Jacqueline Starz will officiate.  A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at the church.  Interment will be private.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  The family kindly requests no flowers.  Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church.   www.Since1853.com.
