Robert C. Palmer, 72, of Carlisle, died on Monday, March 23, 2015, at his
home. He was born on April 23, 1942, in Newville, a son of the late Merle J. and Kathryn (Graham) Palmer. Robert was a retired self-employed contractor and carpenter. He formerly worked for Laughman’s
Siding Co., C. H. Masland & Sons and Carlisle Tire and Wheel. He attended Big Spring High School.
Bob enjoyed making stained glass, hunting, fishing, gardening and he loved woodworking. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Darlene M. (Walters) Palmer, his children; Tersia L. Bishop, Jennifer
K. McClintock and husband, Joel and Robert S. Palmer and wife, Deann, all of Newville, five sisters; Doris Burkholder, Joann
Sollenberger, Kathryn Seitz, all of Newville and Alice Wilson of Daytona, FL and Vickie Jones of Carlisle, seven grandchildren,
one great-grandson, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers; Albert and Merle Palmer, Jr. and
one sister, Betty Lou Palmer. A
viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers
Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Pastor Shad E. Baker will officiate. Interment
will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
