On March 16, 2015, Dennis E. Lupfer, of Shermans Dale, walked through the valley of death, where he had no fear as his shepherd protected and comforted him across and into his eternal home in heaven.  He was born on Dec. 13, 1954, in Harrisburg, a son of Charles E. and Pauline (Frownfelter) Lupfer of Shermans Dale.

Denny attended Bible Baptist Church where he became a child of God and was baptized on July 20, 2014.  Denny was a 1972 graduate of West Perry High School.  He was employed with the family business “Creek View Farms” as the property manager for many years and had also worked for the Texas Eastern Pipe Line as a station attendant for more than 15 years.  Denny, for many years was a successful Little League Baseball coach in Shermans Dale, he was an avid Phillies fan, loved golfing with his many friends and was an avid 50’s and 60’s memorabilia collector that provided a showroom that Denny was proud of.  He formed the Perry County Automotive Association which sponsored the largest one day car meet in Central PA.  Denny’s love of family and friends was immeasurable but his grandchildren were his greatest blessings.  Denny was proud to be a part of Lupfer’s Grove and the community service it provided to the people of Shermans Dale and surrounding Perry County.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Darla R. (Smiley) Lupfer, and beloved daughter, Ali S. J. Staley and her husband, Shane of Harrisburg, two brothers; Allen Lupfer and his wife, Kim and Tim Lupfer and his wife, Michele, both of Shermans Dale, one granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth Staley, one grandson, Wren Michael Staley, nieces, nephews and special friends, Lisa and Brad Reisinger and their extended family of Loysville.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bible Baptist Church, 1757 New Bloomfield Rd., New Bloomfield, PA 17068.  Pastor James God will officiate.  Burial will be in Young’s United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale.  Viewings will be held on Friday at the church from 2 – 4:00 p.m. and 6 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the services.  Memorial donations may be made to Bible Baptist Church or to the Shermans Dale Fire Co. or to A.L.S. http://hersheywalk.kintera.org/teamracers.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  www.Since1853.com

Denny was a very nice man and landlord. Every day when he came down and was checking things out here at Lupfers Grove.  He always waved and said hi and tell me how my kids are growing up, and I have such nice and wonderful kids.  He even gave my oldest daughter money for her Graduation. And my dad (Elmer) always helped him out when he was down here at the water shed.  He will be missed.  R.I.P.Denny now you can look down at all of us.  We will miss you at the Car shows and Old Iron
