
Carol Louise Barnes Hampton, of Carlisle, affectionately
known as “Weezy” was granted her angel wings on March 15, 2015, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in so many ways throughout her life.
Carol was born on Dec. 9, 1953, in Carlisle, a daughter of Betty (Spraglin) Oberton Burns of Harrisburg and the late
Gilmond W. Oberton, Sr. Carol was educated in the Philadelphia
School system and was currently employed with Carlisle Events. She formerly worked for Exel Logistics in
Carlisle for 14 years and was also a C.N.A. She was a member of the Unity Church in Mt. Holly Springs,
Order of Eastern Star P.H.A. Jeptha Chapter No. 4 and the Haines-Stackfield American Legion Post 826 Ladies Auxiliary, Carlisle. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Walter M. Hampton, three sons; Nathaniel E. Barnes (Emily) of Carlisle,
Adrian L. Barnes of Bowie, Md., Baishi Bailey of Carlisle, two daughters; Kinisha Barnes and Renee Stackfield (Quinton), both
of Carlisle, two brothers; Gilmond W. Oberton, Jr. and Eric Clark, both of Carlisle, four sisters; Sarah Robinson of Hampton,
Va., Deborah Ann Webb (Jessie) of Carlisle, Linda Anderson (Robert) of Salisbury, Md., and Vanessa D. Michaels of Harrisburg,
16 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. A viewing
will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015, followed by funeral services at 12:00 noon in the Ewing Brothers Funeral
Home, 630 S. Hanover Street., Carlisle with Rev. Brenda Alton officiating. The Eastern Star service will
begin at 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. www.Since1853.com.
