Berneita V. Morrison, 103, died Friday, February 27, 2015, at Green Ridge Village, Newville.  She was born on Feb. 4, 1912, in Newville, a daughter of the late Bruce E. and Bertha B. (Souders) Mentzer, and was the widow of Roy G. Morrison, who died on Feb. 3, 1983.

Berneita was a loving homemaker and a longtime member of Green Spring First Church of God, Newville.  She was a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class, the Big Spring Senior Center, the Jolly Sixties and the Golden Age Group, all of Newville.  Berneita enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, sewing, horseback riding and her favorite hobby was fishing.

She is survived by two daughters; Pauline L. Jumper of Shippensburg and Cindy L. (husband, Delmar) Russell of Newville, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Janet Mentzer of Carlisle.  She was predeceased by one son, R. Lester Morrison, one daughter, Vesta M. Darr, two brothers; John B. and Dale W. Mentzer.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, followed by services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Philip Steele officiating.  Interment will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
