Eugene H. “Gene” Campbell, 72, of Carlisle, died on Friday, February 27, 2015, at West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.  He was born on March 16, 1942, in El Paso, Texas, a son of the late Eugene H. Campbell, Sr. and Marguerite (Farabelli) Campbell.

Gene retired after co-owning C & A Motors in Carlisle for many years.  He was a former member of the Carlisle Flying Club and the Carlisle Aeromodelers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley J. (Amsley) Campbell, one son, Larry E. (wife, Mary) Campbell of Carlisle, one grandson, Tyler E. Campbell of Carlisle, two sisters; Anna May Graves of Boiling Springs and Mary Ann Bryner of Bain Bridge and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers; Frank Campbell and John Staruh and one sister, Cathy Shearer.

Services and interment will be private.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to LeTort United Methodist Church, 1198 Claremont Rd., Carlisle, PA 17015 or to Carlisle Cares, 50 W. Penn St., Carlisle, PA 17013.

Dear Shirley, My deepest sympathies in the loss of your dear husband Gene. Fifty five years may seem like a lot to many folks, but I no that to you, it was over in a flash. Many prayers and much love will be with you from me. God bless you for your goodness.
