Anna Louise Vaughn, 82, of Carlisle, joined her Lord and
Savior on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Holy Spirit Hospital with her family by her side. She was born
on March 15, 1932, in Centerville, a daughter of the late George I. and Mary B. (Etter) Vanasdlen. Anna was a loving homemaker. Her life revolved around her family and she was an active member with
the Life House Church of God, Carlisle. Those who met her were enchanted by her sweet, loving spirit and
her constant concern for others. Her joy and laughter was contagious and the love that she showed others
is her legacy. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61
years, George J. Vaughn, one son, Michael T. (and his wife, Cindy) Vaughn of Carlisle, three daughters; Sandra R. (and her
husband, David) Godwin of Newville, Carol Ann (and her husband, Michael) Shay of Harrisburg and Diane V. (and her husband,
Tim) Swartz of Carlisle, four brothers; Lee, Paul, Glen and Robert Vanasdlen, three sisters; Cecelia Fulton, Naomi Helms and
Kay Philips, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
one granddaughter, Amanda Steffy, three brothers; Clyde, John and Roy Vanasdlen and one sister, Janet Vanasdlen. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015, followed by services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Kipp Penrod officiating. Burial will be
in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, Anna would want loving acts of kindness
to others, not to honor her, but to honor her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
