John R. Brown, 62, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday,
January 13, 2015, at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on October 29, 1952, in Kansas City, MO, a son of
the late Joseph A. Brown, Jr. and Elise (Itzel) Brown. John graduated
from the former De La Salle High School in Kansas City. John served 16 years in the US Army.
He earned several honors and medals for his service and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant First Class in 1989.
John was currently employed at the Defense Distribution Susquehanna PA in New Cumberland, where he was a supply management
specialist. John had a total of 46 years of service with the US Federal Government. He
was a member of the Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church, H. O. G. Cumberland Valley Chapter PA and the Mechanicsburg American
Legion. He is survived by his wife, Carma J. “Jeannie”
Arnold, one daughter, Jennifer R. (husband, Roger) Alonzo of Anthem, AZ, two sons; Benjamin J. (wife, Rebecca) Brown of Chambersburg
and Matthew J. (wife, Cassondra) Brown of Fayetteville, NC, one step-daughter, Tammy Clouser of Carlisle, four brothers; Jay,
George, Chris and Don Brown, one sister, Peg Davis, four grandchildren, one step-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by one brother, Gerry Brown. A viewing
will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015, followed by the funeral service at 11:45 a.m. at the Carlisle Brethren
in Christ Church, 1155 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, with Pastor Josh Crain officiating. Burial will follow
at 2 p.m. with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
