Major (Ret) Eugene N. Schuster, USAF, 91, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services, Carlisle.  He was born on July 2, 1923, in New Lexington, Ohio, a son of the late Charles E. and Loreene (Elswick) Schuster and was married to the late Margaret C. (Maruska) Schuster, who died Feb. 11, 2007.

He is survived by two daughters; Marsha Schuster Nichols (husband, Alfred Nichols) of Little River, SC and Monteen C. Bard, (husband, Nathan R. Bard, Jr.) of Carlisle, five grandchildren; Monica Nichols, Andrea Coleman, Alfred Kuenzli, Nathan Bard, IV and Debra Hill and seven great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two brothers; Charles and Robert Schuster.

A viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 S. West Str., Carlisle.  Rev. Mira Hewlett will officiate.  A time of fellowship will be held at the church following the service.  Burial with military honors will be held on Dec. 19th at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle United Methodist Church.
