

Amos A. Dewalt, 84, of Newville, passed away on Wednesday,
December 3, 2014, at Green Ridge Village, Newville. He was born on March 17, 1930, in Carlisle, the son
of the late Howard M. and Erma (Dunkle) Dewalt. He was married to the late Betty Jane (Bender) Dewalt,
who died July 12, 2010. Amos was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired
from the former C. H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle, after 42 years of service. Amos was a member of the
Big Spring United Lutheran Church, Newville.
He is survived by three
daughters; Beverly A. (George) Stets of Newville, Kaye N. (Robert) Failor of Carlisle and Betsy J. Kurtz of Newville, one
son, Michael A. (Linda) Dewalt of Newburg, eight grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. Amos was predeceased by an infant daughter, Sherry Dewalt, one sister, Geraldine Lockridge
and his son-in-law, Morris “Butch” Kurtz, who died Nov. 23, 2014. A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Str., Carlisle. Interment with military honors will be at Indiantown
Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Memorials may be made to Big Spring United Lutheran Church, 101 Crossroad
School Rd., Newville, PA 17241.
