Edna M. Conrad, 91, of Shippensburg
and formerly of Carlisle, died on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the Shippensburg Health Care Center. She
was born on March 8, 1923, in West Hill, Cumberland County, a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Anna M. (Low) Grove, and
was the widow of Gerald E. Conrad, who died Sept. 24, 1990.
Edna was
a longtime member of the former Grace United Methodist Church and is currently a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church.
She had worked for 27 years with the former Carlisle Shoe Co. and retired from the Kinney Shoe Co. after 19 years of
service. Edna was a past member of the Plainfield Grange and the North Middleton Senior Citizens. She
is survived by one son, Albert L. (wife, Janet) Grove of Shippensburg, two grandsons; Jeffrey and Brian Grove, four great-grandchildren,
two sisters; Helen Kiner of Mt. Holly Springs and Martha Sowers of PA and FL and several nieces and nephews. Edna
was predeceased by two brothers; Lawrence and Donald Grove and one sister, Maxine Conrad. A
visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014, with funeral services to begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Str., Carlisle, with Rev. James VanZandt and Rev. Harold Bolyard officiating.
Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be
made to Gentiva Hospice, 4660 Trindle Rd., Ste. 204, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
