
Rosamond S. Kerr, 91, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, August 30,
2014, in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was born on Aug. 9, 1923, in Bloserville, a daughter
of the late John E. and Myrtle M. (Lehman) Mayberry. Rose was the widow of John R. Kerr, Jr., who died
Feb. 22, 1985. Rose was a loving and devoted homemaker and mother.
She was a faithful member of the Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle. Rose loved to cook and
play cards on Friday nights. She is survived by four sons; Edward E.
Kerr of New Cumberland, Andrew M. (Kathryn) Kerr of Newville, John Michael Kerr of Chester, VA and James S. (Javette) Kerr
of Newville, one brother, Mark C. Mayberry of Carlisle, 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews
and a very special person, Michelle Ellerman of Carlisle. She was predeceased by one son, Robert W. Kerr,
four brothers; David, Floyd, Wilmer and Ray Mayberry and one sister, Dorothy M. Miller. A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 followed
by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Rev.
Daniel R. Mikesell will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
